Beginning his career in 1978 with the heavy metal group ATC, he would join Candlemass in 1985 as one of the band's founding members, notably lending rhythm guitar to ten of the band's twelve studio albums and thus appearing on the most albums outside of bassist and bandleader Leif Edling. 1 After breaking up again in 2002, Candlemass reformed in 2004 and have continued to record and perform since then. After the breakup of his first band Nemesis, bassist Leif Edling started his own band under the name Candlemass with vocalist Johan Längqvist, drummer Matz Ekström, guitarist Mats "Mappe" Bjorkman and Klas Bergwall.
